It’s everybody’s dream vacation, to explore Miami Beach’s sunny shores and discover its best attractions. Craig Kruman and Steven Hillenberg understood that, and since October 2004, they have been allowing adventurers and explorers the opportunity to do so in a way that even the media refers to as exciting. Time Magazine has named GoCar Tours "one of the coolest inventions of the year," USA Today calls it "the next tourist sensation," and according to CNN Headline News, “it's time to dump the map and jump inside a GoCar.”
Miami Beach visitors have done just that. With GoCar Tours Miami’s technology, they can drive themselves around the city in sleek, open-air vehicles and explore what most visitors never see. GoCar Tours uses GPS technology to offer driving directions and professionally-produced audio tours that describe points of interest along the road. The tours are offered in five languages, including both English and Spanish. More importantly, vacationers can finally tour Miami on their own terms, as GoCar Tours takes them where they wish when they want, and for as long as they want.
The audio system offers tours of the area of Miami Beach bounded by South Pointe Park, 63rd Street and the Atlantic Ocean. It also takes its driver and passenger across the Venetian Causeway to the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts. Should they prefer, renters may go outside the tour area as well and soon, they will be able to explore talked-about hot spots like Bal Harbour and Bayside Mall.
"It's a self-guided tour in a fun-to-drive vehicle," said co-owner Craig Kruman. "The vehicle gives you turn by turn directions, recommends restaurants, talks about hotels and other activities and tells stories along the way that bring the city to life. It turns the city streets in a virtual Disney World attraction.”
GoCar Tours Miami has 16 vehicles, and provides renters with umbrellas, rain ponchos and towels in case of rain. One vehicle accommodate two persons and is equipped with seat belts, a roll bar and helmets. It’s the customized, three-wheeled open air European vehicles powered by a 50cc engine equipped with a computer audio GPS system that makes it special. Unlike conventional GPS systems, no user input is required. The company encompasses in total a fleet of almost 80 vehicles cars spread over a network of four different U.S. locations.
GoCar Tours provides a different product than other rental companies. Unlike operations that adhere strictly to vehicle rental, GoCar Tours Miami is first and foremost a tour company that takes pride in offering a very high level of customer service.
Visitors have fallen very quickly for GoCar Tours Miami and put their trust in the company’s excellence and professionalism. Of course, GoCar drivers are most appreciative of the amount of attention they get from driving the eye-catching vehicles. They often feel like a celebrity at the wheel, and when it comes down to it, that’s what Miami is all about: bringing out the celebrity in everyone.
